      Some examples from government, when I worked on the main gov.uk website. While there, I worked with a team on how the website performs – that is, speed, making sure it stays online, making sure it could cope with the country needing to look. Behind those questions are a lot of detail around how code is written and run.

      During COVID I led the technical side of the Shielded service, which brought food to people stuck at home with no support. All the work about keeping the gov website up became much more important as half the nation was trying to use the site at the same time!
