I help people understand information by working with data; things like numbers, facts, and figures. I look for patterns and use tools like charts, graphs, and computer programs to explain what the data means.
My job is a bit like being a detective: I find clues in data to help people solve problems or make good decisions. I use tools like Power BI (a program that makes charts), Excel (a tool for organising numbers), and Python (a language that tells computers what to do).
I love my work because I get to be creative, solve real problems, and make life better for others.

My Typical Day:
I wake up and help my children get ready for school. After breakfast, I start work on my computer. I look at data, make charts, and write simple computer programs. I take short breaks, then carry on solving problems until it’s time to pick up my children.

After getting my children ready and dropping them at school, I start my work at home or sometimes in a quiet space. I check emails and plan my tasks for the day. Most of my work is on the computer.
I use programs like Excel to work with numbers, and Power BI to make colorful charts that help people understand information. I also use a computer language called Python to tell the computer what to do, like sorting data or finding patterns.
I take breaks to stretch, eat, and rest my eyes. In the afternoon, I finish up my work and prepare anything I need for the next day. I then pick up my children, help them with homework, cook dinner, and spend time with them before bed. It’s a busy day, but I enjoy it!

What I'd do with the prize money:
If I win the £500 prize, I would use it to run fun and hands-on tech workshops for children, especially those from underrepresented or low income backgrounds. I’d teach them how to use data, create simple charts, and explore coding in a fun way, using games, stories, and real-life examples. I want every child to know that they can be great at STEM, no matter where they come from.

Education:
I grew up in Nigeria and always enjoyed learning, especially subjects like maths and science. I went to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), where I earned my first degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering. This taught me how machines, power, and technology work together.
After that, I studied at the University of Ibadan, where I completed a Master’s degree in Engineering Management, with a focus on Project Management. This helped me learn how to plan, lead, and complete big tasks or projects, especially those that involve technology.
Later, I moved to the UK and studied at Aston University, where I earned a Master’s in Applied Artificial Intelligence. I learned how to build smart systems and teach computers to solve problems, almost like thinking for themselves.
All these experiences helped me grow step by step into the person I am today — someone who uses technology and data to help others and solve real-world problems.
-
Qualifications:
When I was about 15, I took my WAEC exams in Nigeria, these are like GCSEs or O Levels in the UK. I studied subjects like Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. I worked hard and passed well, which helped me move on to university.
Each step of my education helped me grow my skills and confidence, and showed me how learning can open exciting doors for the future.
-
Work History:
I have worked in different data and technology roles that helped me build strong skills in data science and machine learning.
I worked as a Machine Learning Engineer (Transmission) at Huawei, where I looked at large sets of data to help the company make smart choices. I used tools like Excel, SQL, and Python to find useful patterns and answers.
Later, I worked at Ericsson, where I also used data to solve problems and improve how things worked. I created reports and dashboards that helped teams understand what was happening and what they could do better.
Now, I work as a Data Scientist at Lav Systems in the UK. I use machine learning , a way of teaching computers to learn from data and to help businesses make better decisions. I build models, clean data, and create dashboards so others can see results clearly.
These jobs have helped me become confident in using technology to solve real-world problems, and I enjoy sharing what I learn with others.
